Shawna M James is a director, educator , and activist from the San Fransisco Bay Area. She is currently the Directing and Producing Apprentice at The McCarter Theater Center in Princeton, NJ. While here, she has had the privilege of serving as the Assistant Director to four world-class directors including Tony-award winner Doug Hughes, Adam Immerwahr (Artistic Director of Theater J, DC), Broadway- director Kimberly Senior, and the Artistic Director of McCarter Theater Center, Emily Mann. Shawna has been sharing her passion for the arts with students of all ages for 7 years and counting teaching a variety of subjects including acting, Shakespeare, text analysis, and audition prep. Shawna is a proud member of the March for Our Lives: Boston movement . Shawna holds a BFA in Theater Arts from Boston University with a minor in Arts Leadership as well as a semester diploma in Classical Acting from LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts).
