March for Our Lives: Boston
In the aftermath of the Parkland Shooting, I felt charged with immense passion to use my voice to amplify the important messages the students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas were sharing with the world. I was also keenly aware that I was living in a deeply segregated city infected with gun violence, disproportionately effecting areas with predominately people of color. I was quick to join the movement, and rose quickly in the leadership team to engage and mobilize young people to join the national conversation as well as pay attention to the issues of gun violence that rattle Boston on a daily basis. Following the lead of fellow activists in Parkland, I organized and led two walkouts on the Boston University campus and led a group to attend the national march in the city of Boston on March 24, 2018. Below are photos from the walkouts and marches as well as posters/pamphlets passed out at each event.
